News and Events

We have been informed that a member of bar staff, who worked at the Club last Friday evening, 16th October (and not any time since) has tested positive for COVID-19. As such we are taking the following action:

  1. The Club are completing a deep clean of the Clubhouse facilities
  2. The bar and coffee lounge will be closed until 7pm on Tuesday 20thOctober 2020.
  3. The squash club remains open.

All staff members wear protective face coverings whilst on Club premises, and due to the nature of their work are unlikely to come into close contact with members or visitors for 15 minutes or more.

Members and visitors who attended the Club bar last Friday evening should follow the Government guidance relating to possible contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. More information is available here. You will be contacted directly by NHS Test and Trace should you be considered at risk of infection.

We will provide any further updates to the situation as necessary.

May we take this opportunity to thank all members and visitors for continuing to adhere to our Covid secure guidelines, and to remind you to refrain from visiting the Club should you be displaying any symptoms of Coronavirus, or have been advised to self-isolate.

Marple Sports Club Executive Committee

Currently, as you enter the club we are asking all members and visitors to "sign-in" using the paper sheets by the entrance door to provide track and trace details.

On Thursday 24th September the NHS COVID Tracking app will be available to download from the Apple Store and Google Play Store. Providing you have the app installed on your mobile phone, Marple Sports Club will allow you to "sign-in" simply by scanning a QR code with the app, each time you visit the club. This immediately logs your visit to the club with the NHS, and will allow you to be contacted automatically should need arise.

For those members or visitors without the mobile phone app, you may continue to sign in using the paper sheets each time you enter the building.

Look out for the new NHS posters which will be located around the building from 24th September.

We'll post the links to download the apps on our website, Facebook and Twitter accounts as soon as they become available.

Please Note: Certain "Prerequisites" (such as the latest mobile operating system) may be required in order to download and/or use the app.

As in our previous post, we are re-opening the club this Friday 10th July.

In order to operate safely for both members and our staff, we have produced a risk assessment, and guidelines regarding one way systems that will be in place at the club. Please take a few moments to familiarise yourselves with the documents below. Click on the two links below to open PDF documents.

Car Park Update

Work is progressing well on the new car park and we are now at a stage where the driveway itself needs to be resurfaced.
There is now no access to the driveway by car as this section of the project has been started today. As suggested in previous posts, any members have access to the ground for training or sports activities, but please park on the surrounding roads sensibly.

We anticipate this section of work to be completed (hopefully) by next week.

Any changes we will of course keep you updated.
